FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TORONTO, ON –While most companies are seeing a dramatic decline in business because of the current economic climate and in some instances are laying off staff or closing their doors for good, one entrepreneur bucking the trend forging full steam ahead with plenty of energy and enthusiasm is Brenda Bot, President of Salad Creations.
With things going extremely well, Salad Creations has fashioned its own economic stimulus package in order to help the economy and to help Toronto Get Healthier.
Starting April 2nd to celebrate its early success, at its official Canadian grand opening (running the entire day and continuing on a indefinite monthly basis) guests will understand why “Fresh is Fabulous”. as the restaurant offers free junior creations for everyone. Those in attendance are invited to taste hearty made-to-order offerings. Specializing in chopped or tossed salads and warm or cold wraps, fresh food and friendly service defines Salad Creations’ in downtown Toronto. Guests can dine in-house or take their meal to go.
Born & raised in Sudbury, Bot’s daughter Jenna first saw Salad Creations in action while vacationing in Florida and, after enthusiastically describing the concept to her mother, the pair were convinced the concept would work well in there home country.
Salad Creations is a rapidly expanding global restaurant chain specializing in good, healthy food, and it has come to Canada thanks to Bot. Despite the economy, the company’s flagship Canadian store recently opened and located at 433 Yonge St. in the trendy College Park area is the jumping off point for a major expansion in Canada.
“We even have two more locations scheduled for 2009 in Toronto,” says Justin Bot, VP development of Salad Creations. The success of the downtown Toronto location has sparked interest from a business sector hurt by the current economic downturn, continues Bot, “We also have a large number of franchisees already on board who want to open around the Toronto area in the future.”
The restaurant takes fresh choice to the next level. Guests control their entire experience, choosing from over 40 different toppings, 23 freshly-made salad dressings, four types of lettuce and a plethora of featured salads. With banquette-style seating, spacious tables and swivel bar stools, guests will leave their worries behind while they enjoy a delicious, hearty, custom-made meal at Salad Creations. You design your own meal, right down to the crouton.
“At Salad Creations, the salad is the meal. You’ll leave feeling full but light, enjoying exactly the meal you wanted,” said Brenda Bot, master developer, Salad Creations.
The fresh options and a welcoming atmosphere support to the promise that “Fresh is Fabulous” at Salad Creations. Friendly speedy service combined with complimentary Wi-Fi Internet and wide-screen LCD televisions provide a winning combination for guests looking for a break. Salad Creations understands that being green doesn’t end with fresh food. With distinctive red, cascading bowls and silverware for dine-in guests and a completely biodegradable set for those on the go, eating at Salad Creations is the greener choice.
“Popular and upscale offerings such as ‘Chinese Chopstick’, ‘Wild Alaskan Salmon’ and ‘Spicy Buffalo Chicken’ cater to Canadian taste profiles, tantalizing guests without breaking the bank. We offer superior choices to discerning guests with locally sourced-produce, real Canadian cheddar and hand-roasted vegetables,” said Jenna Bot, Operations Manager of Salad Creations.
The concept tosses together dozens of fresh, healthy ingredients, adds a dash of table-side theatrics from a personal Salad Chef, and seals the deal with a twist of Cosmo Kramer… yes, THAT Kramer. Salad Creations appears to take a page from a 1990 Seinfeld script in which Jerry’s high-haired neighbor comes up with an idea for a chain of make-your-own pizza restaurants. Substitute salad for pizza and you’ve got a great meal that’s good for heart as well as the funny bone!
When she talks about healthy food, Brenda Bot puts her money where her mouth is. “I had been overweight for years and one day I decided enough was enough,” admits Bot. Seeking healthy eating choices brought her to look into Salad Creations. “When dining out, everywhere I went had limited healthy options to choose from. How refreshing it was that at Salad Creations, I could make up my own salad and still stay on my plan of losing weight. I lost about 140 pounds and haven’t looked back since!”
As the perfect addition to the downtown core, Salad Creations has found its place among young professionals at its trendy College Park location. Since opening its doors in January, Salad Creations has seen a stream of regular guests who continue to return outstanding service and complete choice in every meal. Open internationally with over 60 restaurants and more to come, Salad Creations hopes to spread the love of chopped fresh salads to all Canadians.
